Caught n' 4k is a photography and videography business based in Metro Detroit, Michigan. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Short version: we collect what we need to photograph your event and get paid for it, we never sell it, and we never post your photos publicly without asking you first.

1. What We Collect

When you enquire, book, pay, or communicate with us, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number

  • Event or session date, time, and location

  • Details about your event, including timelines, shot lists, and special requests

  • Billing and payment status

  • Photographs, video, and audio captured during your session or event

  • The names and likenesses of people who appear in that material

We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver's licence numbers, medical information, or full card or bank details.

2. Why We Collect It

We use your information to respond to enquiries, schedule and deliver your services, prepare contracts and invoices, plan and coordinate on the day, edit and deliver your files, provide gallery access, keep required business records, and improve how we work.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

3. Your Photos and Video

Material we capture is used to deliver the services you booked.

We will never sell your photographs or video.

We will never post your material publicly — portfolio, website, social media, advertising, or anywhere else — unless you have given us approval through a contract, release, or written permission. You can decline, and declining does not affect your service or your price.

If you have previously approved portfolio use and change your mind, contact us, and we will remove the material from anywhere we reasonably control.

4. Who We Share It With

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us operate: online gallery platforms, cloud storage providers, payment processors, print labs, editing software providers, and our website and email providers. We may also share information with legal, tax, or accounting professionals where required, or where we are legally obliged to disclose it.

These providers only receive what they need to perform their function.

5. Payment Information

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We never see or store your full card number or bank details. Those providers handle your payment information under their own privacy and security terms.

6. How Long We Keep Things

Photos and video: final edited files are stored for 90 days after delivery. After that, we may delete galleries and project files. Please download and back up your files within that window.

Contact and booking records: retained as long as needed for business, tax, and legal purposes, typically seven years.

Enquiries that don't become bookings: deleted within 12 months.

7. Your Choices

You can contact us at any time to:

  • Correct inaccurate information we hold about you

  • Ask us to stop sending marketing messages

  • Request deletion of your personal information, where we are not legally required to keep it

  • Withdraw approval for portfolio or social media use of your images

We will respond within 30 days. Some records may need to be retained for tax, legal, or contractual reasons, and we will tell you if that applies.

8. Children and Minors

We photograph and film minors as part of family sessions, weddings, school events, and other client-booked work.

Any session involving a minor must be booked or approved by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without adult consent, and we will not publish an image of a minor without explicit approval from their parent or guardian.

9. Security

We protect your information with password-protected devices and accounts, restricted file access, reputable storage platforms, and care when sharing digital content.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you promptly.

10. Websites and Social Media

Our website is hosted by Wix, which may collect analytics data and use cookies in accordance with its privacy policy. If you contact us through Instagram or another social platform, that platform collects information under its own terms.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites, social platforms, payment processors, or gallery services.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always the one published on this page, effective from the date at the top.
